I laughed at the song list, as well.  Isn't it funny?  The things that come up can be applied to just about anything but the meaning is found in the details.
You were featured again?  Don't you hate it when they don't tell you what they are doing and just do it anyway?  It's one of the reasons why I don't like spaces anymore.  pfffttt...
I had a Google hit yesterday, from Australia, for "songs for gelati man" an it just cracked me up.
I also had an icky one... something about little boys and their anatomy.  (I refuse to type it here; gross!)
Cheers!

great song list!  What's so funny about Lady Madonna is that Holy Son has been playing it on his cello these past few weeks....in a really slow tempo.  So I didn't even remotely recognize the song although I pretended I knew it - he said The Beatles but it just didn't click (I'm as bad as Heather Mills who confessed to not knowing half of Sir Paul's tunes when they'd come on the radio - but she can dance so there is that)

So I've been pretending away until today when my lightbulb went on with your playlist mention and I'm like, OH! That's Lady Madonna (children at your feet....see how they run...like duh)..and it just so happened I read your comment this a.m. at the same time he was again playing it on the cello after breakfast (and I'm giving him schmidt that we don't have time for him to be playing the cello before getting to school although there was the small matter of me being on the computer reading your e-mail so it was an impasse of sorts) and so it was one of those kismet moments, of course, and so I had him play it again, son  - we're talking super slow-mo and classical version cello tune here and I almost peed myself - no wonder I didn't recognize the tune - it sounds nothing like the bebop version. But that's how they're supposed to play it.

Funny ha-ha and funny weird.

hey mrs. tambourine whoa man....

Have you been promoted to the ranks of private now?

And why haven't you blogged about skiing this winter?  And when are you guys going to go post a picture of your new floor?  And why don't the northern lights go south for the winter - I miss them muchly.

These are questions I ponder when I'm not busy considering what I should make for dinner.

OK...well it is 11:31pm my time which would make it about 3:30 in the morning on the farm.

Nat has snow and you have a vibrating Volvo - snicker, snort, a vibrating Volvo - I think the google boys would be bored silly if it wasn't for us 3 - and I'm still powerless in Seattle.

I really want to stand up and belt out, I've got the Power at a karaoke bar here somewhere but it's not to be.  Had a bit of a meltdown of sorts this aft - post company syndrome and I no longer had to hold it together - so here we are a hotel for the next 3 nights.  So much for Christmas.

I have no less than 8 martha-y books spread out in my home with well-thumbed pages and good intentioned crafts and baking and gourmet delights I had intended to create.  And now, if I'm even home for Christmas with heat, hot water and power, it will be a good thing.

I haven't even gotten to see our tree decorated with lights on.

OK, so that's my country Christmas blues song - just need a banjo and a howling homeless dog and the picture will be complete.  In retrospect we're very lucky.  Trees hit the homes of our neighbors - one neighbor had a tree smash into the nursery bedroom and glass window shattered all over and completely covered her baby who remained unharmed and sleeping - amazing grace, that's what that is.

Anyways, I'm going to now hit hay at the inn - beats a manger.

Cheers!

PS... it was sooo totally not 1:19PM when I was here... it was 11:19AM... MY time.  Is there some kind of conversion conspiracy going on?  Which reminds me...
When I used to work at Casa de Vida (institution for ppl with disabilities) there was a woman there named, Margie Stamm, who was a micro-sophalic (sp?) which means she had a tiny, little head and some very strange comments that used to come out of it.  She'd walk around saying, "Could ya tell me what time it is?" and I'd fall for it every time.  She didn't care what time it was... it was just something she said but she was so cute that I'd stop and tell her.
One day, I was wearing a tank top and she walked over to me, slipped her finger along my naked arm and said, "Aren't ya slightly naked?"  I think I laughed for 8 years over that one!  She was playing with her Wheeley when she asked me that.. you know, one of those metal things with a magnetic wheel that runs up and over, up and over, up and over... it was like talking to Rain Man's little sister.  She was adorable.
So, yeah, I was... slightly naked.

So, I'm here... reading through Holy's comments which I hadn't seen... and I read that it was in the 20's in Meheeco and thought... Dayum!!  That's really cold for Mexico!  Then I realized... oh, yeah, celsius.  Oh, you Canadians and your intrepid number systems!  Always causing a rise in us Americano's... tsk.
Okay, so, yeah, wth was I gonna say?  Hmmm.... let me start over...

(THAT, by the way, is happening with increasing speed this Holiday season and I can't remember where I put the stocking stuffers... either.  What's the deal?)

Okay... so, do you finally have your snow?  Or did it just tease you and then get unbearably cold?  Seems as if...
We drove across the top of the west mesa the other day and could see all the way to Angel Fire... which is a good ways away... and could see the snow on top of the mountains... lots of it.  I guess, there's so much, that you need chains to get up there.  I don't have any and have never driven with chains before so I'm thinkin' we're gonna stay in the foothills and do a snow chant.  The boys really want it to snow (as I've promised them they could take their boogey boards out and use them like snow boogey boards) but we just haven't had enough lower level snows.  The weather team on ACTION 7 NEWS! claims it may snow on Sunday or Monday.  The national weather service says it's just going to be overcast.  No one is ever correct in these situations.  Why can't they just do their jobs and *predict* the weather?  For cryin' out loud... The thing we have in common, you Canadians and I, is that it doesn't matter whether it's celsius or farenheit... just that when they say it's going to be a 20% chance of snow... it snows like crazy... and an 80% chance of snow (or precipitation) means it will be a blustery day.  I think these weather predictors need to work on their predicting.
I saw a crystal ball at a thrift shop the other day and thought that maybe I could do a better job predicting the weather if I had one of those.  Instead, I bought some Nag Champa and decided to just burn some incense and chant.  It couldn't hurt and my house is smellin' pretty good as a result.  Although I think it might be more appropriate to find some frankincense and myrrh... but have you ever smelled that stuff?  It's kind of icko... maybe I'll just stick with patchouli.  Lesbian love potion that it is... (lol)

Okay... I'm off to cut celery, arrange veggies, get some dippy thing goin' on.  I have to be at oldest's classroom in a couple of hours and I'm still in yesterday's clothes.  Talk about "kind of icko" goin' on...
:)
*hugs*

Dear Ms. Gelati Farms:

On behalf of the MSN Spaces editorial team in charge of monitoring the length of Blog Titles, I am contacting you today to advise you of your potential infraction under Section 4, Subsection 3.a of the Blog Titles Act (2006 revised 2nd edition).

Sometimes bloggers feel at a loss for words and may not have the wherewithall to conjure up a title for their entry.  Upon review of your site, I would venture to guess this is not an issue for you.  Rather, it would seem you have an ample vocabulary that insists upon positing itself within the first line of your text.

Might we, the editorial team in charge of blog titles, suggest, instead, that you find a way to condense your run-on sentence lines, which incidently, are in no way uninteresting or non-topical, into a succinct four or five word phrase?  Our reccommendation would be that you request and download a copy of the "Suggested Blog Titles for Every Occasion - Parents Edition" - for your perusal and use.  Other bloggers who have suffered from the same blog issue (longtitleofblogoitis) have indicated that they have found it to be most insightful and helpful.

Thank you for your time and attention to this matter.  Should you require any additional information on the Blog Titles Act or would like to research a support group in your area, please do not hesitate to contact me directly.

Sincerely,

Mr. Succ Sinctphrases

November?  November?  Have you been snowed in and you've lost track of the months?  Even I have a December post and I've been away for a good chunk of it :) !!

I'm glad you're busy enjoying the season with the girls and Dean.  Did you manage to get enough snow or has it just been blustery?

Our vacation was a bit on the chilly side - mid 20s for temps and cloudy with rainy spells and little sun but enough that it was warm and humid and comfy and nice and heck, we were in the tropics.   But alas, we're back.  And it feels weird to have been soaking up the sun and heat one day and booking snowboarding for our stoked son the next.

This same son is now addicted to these little tropical coconut drinks - I told him we'll have to check him into an addiction program here to help him kick the habit.  I think he thought I was serious because he asked what that would entail.  I think he got more of a kick out of going up to the bar and ordering them and being served than he did drinking them.  Ahh, but if life could be one great big all-inclusive resort, all would be well matey...

Speaking of matey, the piratey gal was so that you could find your own inner Jack Sparrow.  Kind of like the inner goddess that dwells in your psyche.  Glad to hear she's been captured and now resides below deck and is being tortured by a gang of Barbies and Bratz dolls as we speak.  Gotta pass that girl power on from generation to generation, dontcha know.

OK, I'm tired...busy day doing nothing but feeling sick with a flu and sinus infection and jet lag and it's raining here like crazy, just as it did on most of our trip.

Rain, rain, go away, come again another day.  Guten nacht.

Yes, I totally know what time it was when I left that comment.  I couldn't sleep, felt sick, sick, sick, and the dog next door was really worrying me.  This is the dog that we'd given to our neighbors... Patrick has been working in Arizona and hasn't been home and his wife hadn't been home for two days.  The dog was outside, cold, hungry, thirsty, and howling... all night.  She's been howling the night before, too, but I didn't know they weren't home.  I'd fed her and gave her some water earlier but I finally just couldn't take her howling and felt so bad that she was outside in this cold that I went over, just after I left that comment, and got her.  She was very, very happy to see me.  I was very, very sick.  I was up all night.  I finally went to bed at about 7:30 this morning and just passed out.  It's been a horrendous night.  Poor little Honey finally settled down and got some rest, too.  I took her back over there before I fell asleep... Now that I'm up, I see that everyone is home next door and I'm going to go over there and talk to them.  They left her for two days.... outside, in the cold, with no water, food, and she was freaked.  I don't know what happened but I find this to be unacceptable.  They have my phone number and should have just called me.  I would have brought her over at a reasonable time and taken care of her.  As it is, now I'm just wiped-out and she's totally freaked.  *sigh*
So, I'm resting/sleeping today and going to try to work through this *thing* I have... which has become more than a cold... it is a stomach thing, too.
When it rains, it pours... ack!
You take care of yourself, too.
*hugs*

So Seattle is shut down today - it's a snow day - all schools are closed and Microsoft and a few other businesses.  Now sit a moment with that and see what that conjures up for you - heaps and heaps of white out blizzardy condition snow, right? Yup, me too.  Snow days always meant making forts and tobagganing etc.

Well my poor kids, are stuck inside playing Monopoly right now - not enough snow outside to make a snowball.

But the freezing rain here and traffic congestion makes it necesary for them to close schools - keep everyone off the roads.

So there you go.  Snow day without real snow - in fairness there's heaps around us - we're in a little pocket on the eastside that has missed most of the flurries.

So it totally must be your turn - Alberta is in a deep freeze - it's only a matter of time for you, ya know.

The sky has turned... I can see the cold moisture in the clouds... it made for an awesome but very differently sunset last night.  This morning, the clouds look even heavier... now, if they could just get themselve organized, we might have a party!  I can tuna piano and conduct a pretend orchestra but I have no idea how to organize the clouds.  I wonder if they are union...

I can see that there has been a little bit of snow deposited on the Sandias.  Just a sprinkling... but enough to make the crest look white.  The high wind advisory for today and tonight should blow in some precipitation over the Jemez, Sangre de Cristo, and possibly the White mountains.  All... up north.  *sigh*

I really need to take these dogs for a long walk... they are driving me bananas.  Mojo has been going from each little garbage can (office, both bathrooms) and diving for snotrags... it's so totally gross.  He is bored.  As am I.  Hanging out with bitchy, sick people is boiling my otherwise lukewarm life's blood.  Got. To. Get. Out. Of. The. House.  Now!

Enjoy your day and here's hoping snow is coming your way.

You are a true friend, Miss A... thank you for sharing this toe wigglin' version of one of my favorite songs.  I really am quite grateful for having had the opportunity to see Miss Linda one more time before her untimely death.    My very favorite version is the one by Sarah Vaughn.  Linda also used to sing "At Last" by Etta James.  In my cognac induced love of her music... and my ever so humble opinion... Linda did a better version.  I may not be able to hang out and listen to her talent anymore but she will be with me "... always... come rain or shine..."

Hey there - following your tracks in blog land today - went to go say happy gobble gobble to Lynn and you beat me to it!

I'm also looking for a cool retro winter farm pic for you to make a banner.  With lots of snow of course. (be careful what you wish for!).  But then I found a cool Norman Rockwell plate that would make an awesome gift for my MIL - she's made each of the grandkids these amazing crewel, cruel, kruela(sp?) - you know what I mean - Norman Rockwell prints - awesome.

OK, now your music has kicked in and I'm a jigging and jiving and whistling.

I'm going to go put my slippers on an my apron and I'm already wearing a stretchy waistband pant so I'm set for Tanksgivin Day, round two - oh the joys of being an expat Cdn in the US.  I'm even going to be insane enough to brave 5am Black Friday shopping sales tomorrow - it's my first so I can be blissfully ignorant to how ugly I'm sure it will all prove to be - but what I don't know won't hurt me - yet.  And it beats too-little, too-late Boxing Day sales all to heck.

OK, off to go find my apron.

It's not on my top 10 wish like being in a parade is but being in a chorus would be great.  Or a chorus line.  Or even the aunt Jemima Monologues (I didn't think you needed more creepy google searches now that your site is pubic again.....:)

See what happens when you drink your morning coffee at suppertime - just not good.

I can picture you singing that to your man Deano after maybe a couple too many martinos with a swiffer jet in your hand as you dance across your new bamboo floors - the girls as your back-up singers.

Anyhoo, to completely change the subject, I originally came here to note that you are friends with like half the Best of MSN Spaces world - you know everybody.  Scuzahmeeeah, but can I have your autograph, Sofa lore enya?
